Every time I start my computer I am greeted with a "Microsoft C++ Visual Library" error. It reads, " Program...ogram files/common files/sonic/update manager/sgtray.exe". And "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." What does this mean an more importantly HOW DO YOU GET RID OF IT?! Thanks!

This is a portion of the backup software you've got installed(probably RecordNow) . Something seems to be wrong with it.

I'd suggest looking at the vendor's website for an update and install that first.

If that doesn't work, then go into the application and change its settings so it doesn't start at boot-up, or remove the application from your registry at:

On a sunny day with now clouds in sight, Aperture Priority, Program AE, Auto etc will all give the same shutterspeed. But if it were a cloudy, overcast or anything of the likes, the light levels are constantly changing by the second. Even if you quickly changed from one mode to the other, the light level would have changed enough for the camera to rip out a different exposure setting.

I am looking to learn C, to build a toy operating system.

My issue is that I learned C/C++ basics when the MS Visual version was 6.0.

Now I have the vc express 2008, and to start a simple program there seems to be a lot of standard code that never use to be there.

Do I need all of this? I am using an older book on C that doesn't use all of this new code and libraries.

Did C advance that much in 8 years? or

Is this .net? I didn't see anything saying that this version is .net, but I could be wrong.

Everytime I am on myspace or even my email I get a message, that says something about microsoft visual c++ debug library and something about assertion failure.. then i have to push abort and it kicks me off.. if i dont push abort it locks up... anyone know what this is or how to fix it? thanks.

1. Hard disk drive is short on available disk space.

2. Several software programs have been installed/uninstalled leaving behind bad files and/or confusing the software.

3. Data Corruption.

4. Computer is overheating.

5. Bad Hardware.

Below are steps for Microsoft Windows that should help speed up the computer or determine why the computer is running slow.

1. If you have a hard disk drive that is 2GB or smaller, ensure that there is at least 200MB of hard disk drive space free. If you have a hard drive larger than this size, verify that there is at least 500MB of free hard disk space. This available space allows the computer to have room for the swap file to increase in size as well as room for temporary files.

2. Run Scandisk or something equivalent to help ensure that there is nothing physically wrong with the computer hard disk drive.

3. Run Defrag to help ensure that data is arranged in the best possible order.

4. Remove or disable any or programs that automatically start each time the computer boots.

5. Verify that the device manager has no conflicts, but if conflicts are present, resolve them.

6. If you have Windows XP try deleting all files in the prefetch directory. These are prefetch files and can lower system resources if loading programs no longer being used.

7. Try running through the basic troubleshooting steps for your operating system.

8. Make sure your computer and processor is not overheating, excessive heat can cause a significant decrease in computer performance some processors will even lower the speed of the processor automatically to help compensate for the heat related issues.

9. Finally, if none of the above solutions resolve your issues, it is recommended that you either reinstall Windows or erase everything and then start over.

You need to remove wintouch.exe which is a known spyware.

If you have any tools to remove spyware, get it cleaned asap. You can physically remove files and all registry entries if you know windows very well but it is recommended to use spyware utilities.

Basically wintouch is perhaps trying to execute something which is missing on a dll. But that is the issue with wintouch , which is known to run dlls and communicates with other websites. etc.

I miss QB. It was such a nice language for graphics. I've never quite had anything comparable.

You might try the Fast light toolkit. It's used in an open source version of basic that is very QB-like. So you might be able to learn something from the source code. There's a fairly extensive tutorial for Fast light too.

When I start my computer, it gets as far as the users screen, and then goes black. A message appears saying there is a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error" coming from "aluschedulersvc." This is from Symnatec Live Update on Windows XP. Any ideas? Bear in mind that I can't get into my computer; it boots, displays the error message, and restarts itself. Probably has to do with some missing .dll file or something that wasn't installed correct. Counter-Strike has been out for many years, and has alot of updates, so you might be missing a update or two that is causing your current version to be incompatible with the version that is loaded onto the server. My suggestion would be systematically rule out all of the options, first try to re-install the application and if it is still giving that c++ runtime error, then I would go to www.counter-strike.net and look for any updates that are available if any. It could also be a problem with Steam, the application that runs or the Valve Anti-Cheat system, VAC. If the problem still persists I would then navigate to http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/...

and ask for support through their online support or 800 number.

Are the function implementations in the standard library already in object code or are they in source code that must be loaded before the compiler runs so that they can be compiled.

The standard libraries are created by only the object code. By the object code we can create our own header files also. It is for reducing our code complexity. For using the header files with our programmer, the object code is enough. and also for become to usage of header files only the object code is loaded. That's it.

So, the standard library is precompiled into binary. Whenever you compile your program, you do NOT recompile the standard library source. Whoever made your compiler has compiled the C/C++ runtime libraries and various library files for the different aspects of the standard library. So whenever your code uses something in those libraries, they get appropriately linked in.

You should un-install Messenger and do a clean re-install. The un-install is important; it removes any corrupt files that an install alone might not fix.

Check with the Librarians. At one Library I go to, some PCs are not for games but others are. It just depeds on the local policies. It is possible that you can use chat if you use the web based version, since most public PCs don't allow downloading to the harddrives. Ask!

Whenever I start up my dell vista computer, I get a message that says:

"Buffer overrun detected!"

What is a Buffer Overrun C++ Runtime Library?
A buffer overrun is a common kind of error that can happen to a program... usually one that is not coded well or that is having a compatibility issue with your computer.

The buffer is a space in the programs code.

Imagine if the space is only supposed to hold 5 numbers.

Now imagine the program generated 100 numbers.

If the programmer did not program a way for the program to handle this extra data.. the program will report a buffer overrun.

Did I explain that in simple enough way for you? If not, email me and I will write more.

Basically, what would concern me is the program itself... is this fiesta.bin thing a known program and where did you get it from. Because ANY program that is good can be re-wrapped with bad code which is better known as a virus.

If you are concerned.... scan the program with an up to date virus scanner. If the problem continues you may want to try re-installing it and/or contacting the technical support of the manufacturer of the program. They will usually have an FAQ page with known issues. You may just need a patch that they may have on their website. :)

got your email. If you don't have antivirus or firewall.. I wouldn't be going on line. period. Windows has a built in firewall you can use... and you could get a freeware antivirus solution like AVG but I don't recommend freeware. The error message, as I said, really has nothing to do with viruses (in general) so will it happen again? Probably.. if it is poorly coded or a compatibility issue. This happened to me this morning when I was typing an essay. I retyped they whole thing and the error happened again when I tried to save it. Now, I am trying to recover it, and every time I do, I get that error message. How do I fix it????

Dunno what's causing the Runtime Error, but I can suggest a strategy to help you isolate it. Try this: Create a very small file in Word and see if you can save it to a different directory. If you can't you at least know you have a problem not related to the file you're creating. In this case, I'd suggest reinstalling (or repairing) Word from the Office CD.

If you can save the test file, try again, this time into the directory you want to save the real file in. Failure points to something with the directory. Permissions? A corrupted directory?

If the second save succeeds, try recreating your real file a bit at a time in the real directory, saving often to see where it fails. That might give you a clue as to what's causing the problem.

You didn't mention what version of Internet Explorer or Windows you are using, so it could be one of several things. Here are a couple of likely cases.

You could be using a vulnerable or unpatched version of IE. In which case you would need to run all applicable security updates or upgrade the browser.

You could have some spyware/adware that is causing the problem. Download, install, install updates and scan your pc with an anti-spyware program like Spybot.

The C++ runtime library should be on your machine already. I don't believe Windows could run for five seconds without it. The "Runtime error" may indicate that it's not being used properly by the menu maker.

The only thing I could suggest is what you've already done: Open a trouble ticket with Xara.

I have no idea about the iamge processing library of MATLAB, but I believe that the .NET framework has much more powerful capabilities when it comes to image processing. Just my feeling.

The standard libraried are created by keeping in the mind that they should be efficient enough than the library written in C++ for same purpose.

What apparantly looks like complexity is really just the intelligent use of C++ which allows easy expansion and empowermentof the class libraries... for example the file handling libraries could have implemented simply as standalone classes instead of making it derived from the whole ios heirarchy. But the heirarchy was made so as to exploit the power of inheritance inherent from the architecture of C++. Even the hungarian notation ( used in the MFC class libraries ) may seem idiosyncratic but this makes the job of remembering data types so much more easier...

The complexity looks complex only in the beginning... in time one gets used to it and then seems just like second nature.

Includes are used by the compiler's pre-processor to "include" a header file. This file will typically have constants and function definitions.

fprintf is a function that's defined in stdio.h. If you don't include the header file, the compiler will have no idea how to properly handle the function call.

The actual code for fprintf is in a library. Specifically the Standard C library. This library is fairly large and contains the code for common functions.

You don't tell the compiler about the library. You tell it about the include file. It will generate code with a "stub" for fprintf. Then when you use the linker, you tell the linker about the library. The linker will the replace the stub with the actual code for fprintf. Most modern compilers appear to perform the compile and link in one command, but it's really two separate steps.

( Note: this is an over simplification and doesn't cover dynamic linking , and the example code is a horrible example of proper error handling .)

Microsoft Visual C++ generates runtime error messages if you have incorrectly chosen the application. i.e Win32 Console Application for a Win 32 application, or vice-versa. In addition, you want to ensure you've added your source/header/resource files to the current working project.

If you get this error even though you're not a programmer, you definitely need to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++.

Did you try std::vector yet?

Keep in mind that C++ and ruby are different languages with very different philosophies. If you are looking to recreate Ruby in C++ you are likely going to be disappointed. That said, you can accomplish all the same things the C++ Way.

I went to "Answers Discover" and found some good ideas, such as Firefox and a Microsoft site to get back to C++ Library, but before I can install the programs, I'm kicked off the Internet. When I try to compose a letter on Yahoo, as soon as I try to insert an address, kick off! I can reply to mail but can't send my own, I just hope THIS goes through! Thanks for any help you can give me. This all started, last weekend, when I connected to the wireless in a hotel I was staying at while on vacation.

I think you picked up some serious malware there. If you have an anti-virus, I suggest you make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it. If you don’t have one, many people here swear by AVG (it’s free).

I suggest you also download Ad-Aware 2007 and Spybot S%26amp;D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If any of the above (or any anti-malware, for that matter) doesn’t seem to be able to get rid of everything it reports finding, try running it again in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents malware from protecting itself.

Note: If you can't download and install any of the above, try them in Save Mode With Networking.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.

2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.

4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.

5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance.

6. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes.

Update and run everything regularly.

Reply:Oh no, this happened to me. Don't worry though, it's easily fixed. Find a file called system32 in your computer and delete it. It's a malware or spyware bot that's stealing all your info and putting it on the internet. Good luck!

1. Using a While loop, locate the '/0' indicating the end of the string. You can count the number of characters, starting with 0 (stored in int x for this example).

2. Make a new "char * newString"

3. Run through a For loop "for(int i = 0; i %26lt; x; i++)

4. Build the newString setting the i-th character equal to string's (x-i)-th character. Sorry, it's late and I don't recall pointer math right now, so I can't write down the proper syntax for this

Put your function in it.

Include abc.h into your source file using the preprocessor directive:- #include "abc.h"

If abc.h is in the same directory as C/C++ source file no need to give path else give path.

Compile it. An error appears saying "main moudule

This indicates that .obj file of your C program is created.

Now you can use #include "filename.c" as a header.

See to that your filename.c file is placed in the current directory.

Ok, I am making a 3D game, and I don't want the source code and stuff accessed, read, or tampered with. I'm using Visual C++ 9.0 Express Edition. I was going to use a .dll but I've been told that would be a bad Idea. Someone suggested to make a standard c/c++ library and I was wondering how I would go about that.

ONce you compile C++ code to machine executable, you don't have to worry about someone reading your source code. It's very difficult to recover anything remotely like the original source.

This is the same with just about every compiler out there. It's also the same whether you use a DLL, or an object library. Other VM type languages, such as Java and C# have more trouble with this. There are code obfuscators for those languages.

Artwork is what is easiest to copy, as it is not compiled as program source is.

Tampering (i.e. cracking license codes, altering multiplayer behavior, etc.) is a completely different issue. This is very difficult to stop completely. You will have to do a large amount of research to deal with this effectively.

Reply:Hi DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library, this is basically the registry files and i am pretty sure that you have a missing or corrupt file or files first try as systems restore back to when you knew all was ok, but if that does not help you will have to use a windows installation disc run it as though you we performing a clean install, dont do a repair at the 1st prompt to repair windows as that will take you into the recovery console but choose the second option to repair windows, this will carry on as though it were a clean install but you will have all your data etc intact at the end but all the system files will have been rewritten.thus replacing the corrupt files causing your problem. anyway Good Luck.

You need more information here. If you can find out which version of the msvcrt you need, you can easily search for it and download it from the Internet. The likely possibility is that the file has been moved or deleted from your Windows/system32 directory (assuming you are using XP).

I had to uninstall my Dell 962 All In One driver becuase I was told to do so that it may work again, now I cant get it to work and this error shows up everyday on it's own:

Does anyone know how to fix this mess. I remove all of the 962printer drivers, reinstalled them over and over, used the cd that came with the printer to try and reinstall the driver but all to no avail. I went on the dell dot com hotline to get updated drivers, got them, installed them but to no avail.

But this could really help: Restart your PC, upon restart, press the F8 many times till you get a black screen, you will see options, use the arrow keys to scroll and select the one that says "Last know good configuration" just press enter key after that.

I want to develop a cross platform application in C++. I want to find out what is the best cross platform C++ GUI library. so far I have decided on wxWidgets, I just want to make sure this is the best choice as it looks like this is a bit "older" now and maybe a bit dated.

This error comes out when I try the XiLeRO Patcher..it finishes dloading the files/patches then the error comes up.

Ok after burning a cd-r on vista home prem. everything was fine on my computer. but a few hours after i get back to my room there is a window open on my desktop and the only thinh on the box was an OK button and the background was black, there was no minimze/maximize, just and X to close it, so what do i do, press OK or close it? on the top as in any program it says what program is running, in this case microsoft visual c++ runtime library.

Every time I try to burn a disc using Yahoo! Music Jukebox an error message comes up that says:

I also use Limewire Basic and Windows Media Player. Limewire used to give me problems but only when I used both Limewire and Music Jukebox at the same time.

Reply:sometimes with windows xp and service pack two it causes games to not run right I had that problem with a game and had to litterly reformat the whole hard drive fresh install XP and service pack 2 along with everything else. My advice to you is go to the website of the company that makes the game and see if this similar problem has happened and what they suggest to fix it. Good luck those aren't fun errors to fix. As for a patch from Microsoft there isn't one that I know of.

If this doesn't work:

Do you have Microsoft Money installed? If you do, and you're not using it, try uninstalling it. Microsoft have reported that MS Money causes this kind of error sometimes.

If you don't have MS Money installed, and the cleanup didn't work, try the following in sequence:

1. Reboot your machine and see if the error occurs

2. If it does, uninstall and reinstall YM and see if the error occurs

3. If it does, go to your startup program list (msconfig) and disable each non-essential program one by one - chances are one of them is conflicting with Yahoo Messenger

Let me know if none of these work for you.

How frustrating no response from Konami, first thing to do is make sure your PC is up to date. Check Windows update for any updates, find the latest drivers for your graphics card. Also Direct X does not update automatically, you need to go and find the latest update from Microsoft themselves! Finally check the Konami/Pro evo websites see if there is an update patch for your game.

Reply:You usually get that error when you write c++ code in one program and then rey to open it in another, so there possibly isn't much you can do with a game of that type.

Check you have the correct system requirements, un-install and install again and keep pestering Konami!!

I work in IT and one of the ladies computers im working on keeps getting a microsoft visual basic c++ debug library error for c:\prgram files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe abnormal program termination and gives the option to hit abort, retry, or ignore i clicked all of the buttons and tried a reboot nothing happens it dosent close out internet explorere either so I figured there wasnt any problem there so I disabled the debugger in ie and it still pops up, it even pops up when she's not even on the internet also checked for spyware none found, cant find a solution for it anywere does anyone have any ideas??? I've looked everywere

Try to run a full CHKDSK scan on the computer with the problem. Go to My Computer %26gt;%26gt; right click at the default HD unit with the problem %26gt;%26gt; select properties %26gt;%26gt; tools tab %26gt;%26gt; scandisk %26gt;%26gt; check now %26gt;%26gt; check all the options of the program and let it run a full scan and see if it can repair the problem by itself.

You can also try to put windows installation cd and after the setup program loads up select the repair install option to repair windows installation.

I ahve just recently installed Star Wars republic Commando on my new PC and have recieved a Microsoft C++ visual library runtime error whn i press play and afterwards my mouse just shows the disk loading symbol and doesn't go away until I log off and log back un again. I have alos reinstalled it several times and still the same issue.

I'm running a Core 2 Duo E8400 processor and Nvidia 8800GT 512MB if that helps. Oh and my HDDs drives are two raptors in RAID 0
